Addiction Treatment

Addiction is not a moral failing—it is often a response to distress, trauma, or unmet needs. At the Center for Wellness and Change (CWC), we offer deeply personalized, outpatient addiction treatment that honors your unique story and helps you move toward lasting health. Our approach is collaborative and stigma-free, delivered in a private office setting by experienced clinicians who understand the complexity of substance use. Whether you're just starting to reflect on your relationship with substances or are ready to take active steps toward broader recovery, we will meet you exactly where you are.

Our Areas of Expertise

We provide comprehensive treatment across a wide range of substance-related concerns:

Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)

Whether you’re struggling with prescription opioids, heroin, or fentanyl, or wanting to transition your current treatment to a new care setting, we provide supportive, evidence-based care tailored to your needs.

What we offer:

  • Collaboration with local methadone clinics when appropriate to assist with methadone tapering or transition to buprenorphine/naloxone treatment

  • Therapy for trauma, grief, anxiety, and co-occurring disorders

  • Harm reduction and health-promotion approaches

CWC Program Director Dr. Erik Gunderson is one of the national PCSS Lead Mentors who contributed to the PCSS Practice-Based Guidelines: Buprenorphine in the Age of Fentanyl, which references microdosing for individuals transitioning from fentanyl.

We will help you understand each treatment option clearly so you can make informed decisions based on your goals and lifestyle.

If you’re concerned about alcohol’s impact but don’t identify as having an alcohol use disorder, please see our Alcohol Health Management Program below.

Explore Your Relationship with Alcohol—Without Labels or Judgment

If you’re concerned about how alcohol may be affecting your health or well-being—but don’t identify with terms like “alcoholic” or “addicted'“—you’re not alone. Many people find themselves using alcohol in ways that feel misaligned with their goals, yet don’t fit traditional models of addiction or rehab.

At CWC, our Alcohol Health Management Program is designed for those exploring the gray

area of alcohol use. We offer:

  • A 90–120 minute comprehensive assessment to understand alcohol's impact on your physiology, mental health, relationships, and routines

  • Exploration of the psychological associations and patterns behind drinking, including stress, socialization, and boredom

  • Personalized education and reflection using your own history and data—not stigma or dogma

This program is about curiosity, clarity, and choice—supporting you to make informed decisions about alcohol based on your own values, health, and goals. Your journey is yours to define. Whether you’re seeking healing, stability, clarity, or connection, we’re honored to walk with you toward meaningful change.
